Safeguarding

At SPLAT we pride ourselves on creating a trauma-informed environment which not only benefits children who have experienced trauma directly but also enhances the overall well-being and development of every child in our care. It is through our commitment to empathy, inclusivity, and sensitivity that we cultivate a nurturing community where every child can flourish. By embracing trauma-informed practices, we create a space where every child's emotional well-being is prioritised. Our staff members are trained to recognise signs of distress, respond with empathy, and provide appropriate support to help children navigate their feelings and build resilience.

Early Help

We work closely with our local authorities Early Help Assessment Teams (EHA) as a way of bringing together appropriate and relevant services to ensure children, young people and their families get the help and support they need. Gemma P is our Early Help advisor, please contact for more information.

Our team are all training in recognising and supporting children and families with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s), and understand how a child’s brain develops through early experiences  which allows us to best support the children and families in our car. More information here

CEOP

What is CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection).
  • CEOP is a command of the National Crime Agency and works to pursue and prosecute child sex offenders.
  • CEOP works with child protection partners across the UK and overseas to identify the main threats to children and coordinates activity against these threats to bring offenders to account. We protect children from harm online and offline
  • Thinkuknow is unique. It is underpinned by the latest intelligence about child sex offending from CEOP Command
  • Thinkuknow aims to ensure that everyone has access to this practical information – children, young people, their parents and carers and the professionals who work with them.
