Activity Club Playworkers- Henlow, Central Bedfordshire - Part Time - Holidays Only

We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic males and females to join our unique new activity team at Henlow Lakes Camping Site for 2019.

Our new team will consist of three Playworkers delivering open access activity sessions every Bank holiday Saturday and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturdays during the summer break 2019.

Hours: We are hoping for a full and consistent team, however, this position is also open on a flexible contract if you have holidays booked or are unable to work some of the days.

Core hours are 9.30am – 2.45pm per day. One evening session 5pm-10pm on Thursday 5th July. More hours available if required on other projects

Tasks: To set up planned activities such as arts and crafts, woodwork, den building, inflatables and sports. To supervise and facilities play opportunities for children aged 5 – 16 years who are on their camping holidays. To ensure the children have a good time.

Open Access: This means the children can drop in and out of the 1 hour and 45 minute sessions we are offering for them twice a day. 

Who should apply: These vacancies are ideal for college and university students, as well as scout leaders/workers, Playworkers or anyone with a passion for improving children’s play opportunities. As long as you are aged over 17 years and have the enthusiasm to ensure children have a great time, you will be welcomed to our team.

Qualified Teacher -Tuition Classes - Henlow Central Bedfordshire - Part Time

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic male or female QT to lead our unique new tuition classes at Henlow Lakes, launching in September 2019.

Hours: Every Saturday between the hours of 8am -12noon.

Tasks:  You will carry out induction meetings with parent and child and then develop unique 12-week programmes for children aged 5 – 12 years in need of extra support to further their Maths and English. Sessions will run for 1 hour 30 minutes. Half of the session will be practical, outdoor-based physical activities and the second half in the classroom.

You will work with a team of A level and university students to support you each session. At the end of each term, the children will attend a  presentation to celebrate their achievements and move up to the next level.

Who should apply: Qualified Primary Teacher, with a passion to help children extend their learning through outdoor and practical play opportunities.

All successful applicants will undergo an Enhanced DBS check and we will obtain two satisfactory professional references.

Support workers - Tuition Classes - Henlow Central Bedfordshire - Part Time

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic male or female A level or university students with a GCSE in Math/ English of a 6 or above to support our unique new tuition classes at Henlow Lakes, launching in September 2019.

Hours: Every Saturday between the hours of 8am -12noon.

Practitioners - Henlow Central Bedfordshire - Part Time/Full Time

We require full-time Practitioners for our preschool and toddler rooms in our new Day Nursery & Forest School, committed to providing high-quality childcare and early years learning for children aged 0 – 5years. Applicants should have a passion for outdoor learning and ideally, have experience as a practitioner. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a newly built setting with a new enthusiastic team. Training will be provided as well as career growth within the organisation. Our environment strongly focuses on child lead learning, outdoor and messy play, as well as being innovative in technology for both practitioners and children.

Qualities required:

  • Enthusiasm and commitment
  • Effective communication and motivation skills
  • A real desire and capability to achieve the highest standards in childcare
  • Your childcare qualification (Level 2/3 in Early Years Childcare and Education or equivalent) ideally supported by at least one-year post qualifying experience of working with children (Qualifications and experience should apply to the job)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • A good understanding of the Children Act 2004 and Childcare Act 2006
  • Able to work alongside the team in the day-to-day routine of the nursery and forest school.

Assistant Practitioners - Henlow Central Bedfordshire - Part Time/Full Time

We require an Assistant Practitioners for our baby room in our new Day Nursery & Forest School, committed to providing high-quality childcare and early years learning for children 0-5 years.

Applicants should have a passion for outdoor learning and ideally, have experience with children of this age range but not essential.

Both full time and holiday only applicants are welcomed at this stage.

Volunteers - All settings- Full Time/ Part Time

We are welcoming volunteers of all ages and stages of life to join our unique ventures.

Whether you are a student seeking a place to develop and trial your skills, or a mature adult wanting to fill some time in your day.

We are wanting to enhance the opportunities we are able to offer to our children to give them a broader understanding of the work and satisfaction that childcare and playwork can offer to both the children, families and you the carer.

Areas of specific interest:

Day nursery:

Forest School:

  • Woodwork skills, knowledge of nature and wildlife.
